The New Orleans Hornets formally welcomed Chris "Birdman" Andersen back to the club Wednesday after he spent more than two years out of the NBA because of a drug suspension. Andersen was kicked out of the league in January 27, 2006, for violating the league's drug policy and had to wait two years to apply for reinstatement. The NBA reinstated him on Tuesday, when Andersen was in New Orleans for a physical.

Nowitzki will miss the Dallas Mavericks' next game, at home Thursday night against the divisional rival Houston Rockets, who recently passed them in the tight Western Conference standings. Nowitzki received a flagrant-1 when he hit Kirilenko midway through the first quarter of a 116-110 loss to Utah on Monday.
