Barry Could Return to Rockets Today
"At age 36 with 14 years in the NBA, Jon Barry hardly fits the profile of a scrappy, high-energy player. But that's what the Rockets are hoping Barry provides when he returns from a calf injury that has sidelined him for all but four games since Nov. 26," writes Neil Hohlfeld of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. "There's a chance Barry will be activated for today's game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden." - Read More...

Rockets face tough road trip without T-Mac
The Houston Rockets will have to depend on their defense until Tracy McGrady gets healthy because they sure can't rely on their offense. With their star out for three weeks with a back injury, the Rockets (1-2) open a five-game road trip Thursday in Miami. Barry Given Chance to Play Elsewhere
Jonathan Feigen of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE writes, ?The Rockets handed out 8,000 game programs with Jon Barry on the cover Wednesday, the same day they handed Barry his release. With that confluence of events, the Rockets gave a clear picture of how valued Barry had been, and how small his role had become. One of the keys to last season's second-half turnaround, Barry was replaced in this season's rotation by rookie Luther Head and last month's acquisition of Keith Bogans. Barry was released Wednesday because to be eligible to be part of another team's playoff roster, players must be free agents by March 1. The Denver Nuggets, among other teams, have expressed interest in Barry, but Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said Barry was considering retirement.? - Read More...

T-Mac Needs to Put Team on Shoulders
In the HOUSTON CHRONICLE, John P. Lopez writes, ?McGrady's team-first approach should be admired.
